The newly-constructed Kwame Nkrumah Interchange will officially be opened to traffic today as the Brazilian construction firm, Queiroz Galvao hands over the exquisite project to government of Ghana.
The construction of the interchange which replaces the old Kwame Nkrumah Circle comes with amazing features and most Ghanaians sound delighted.
Named after Ghana’s first president, it has fountain called the Kwame Nkrumah Fountain as well as a statue of him.
It is a three-tier interchange which include other ancillary works like drainage, terminals, pedestrian walkways, landscaping etc. It has a 1.2km flyover which stretches from the Busy Ghana end of Ring Road Central to the Awudome Cemetery. There are also down pipe drains that will take water from the top to the drains and to the main gutters and service roads.
Check out some photos of the completed project by night!
