Reigning Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ‘Artiste of the Year’ Stonebwoy has won the ‘Best International Act: Africa’ category at the ongoing BET Experience.
The dancehall musician who faced stiff competition from Sarkodie, AKA, Fally Ipupa, Sauti Sol, Wizkid, The Soil and Yemi Alade becomes the second Ghanaian to win this covetous honour after the SarkCess Music boss won in 2012 together with Nigeria’s Wizkid.
Following the win, the ‘Climax’ and ‘Kweenamu’ hit-maker acknowledged that “Ghana won!” and he eventually dedicated it to all his BHIMnatives as well as the June 3 flood victims.
“GHANA WON!! Dedicate This To The Whole Ghana My Fans (BhimNation) Not Forgetting The Flood Victims.. Thank You God!!,” he shared on facebook.
The BET Awards takes place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California, on Sunday, June 28 and will be live on BET from 8 pm EDT [12 am GMT on Monday, June 29].
